Man’s Compassion for Jobless Launches New Career
WILLOW SPRING— February 10, 2009 Scott Waterhouse understands the feeling of dashed hopes, dreams and security. He pe
rsonally knows what it feels like to be jobless in today’s economic crisis. What it’s like to be told it’s not personal and to learn he wasn’t as important as he thought he was to his employer. In mid 2007, Scott had to resign from his job due in part to escalating Rheumatoid Arthritis problems and job related physical and emotional stress. This made it extremely difficult for him to secure work in the areas he was accustomed to working. Plus, there wasn’t any unemployment insurance coming in to help pay the bills. Savings and retirement funds were wiped out to stay current with financial obligations. His life was in crisis. Scott drew on his faith in God to empower him to find a way to serve mankind as a positive influence during these troubling times.
Waterhouse began long search for a way to re-invent and transform his life with the talents and skills he had gained, practiced and studied over the past thirty years of his professional leadership and management career. One day while reading an article about “Unleashing the Power Within” by, world authority on leadership psychology, Tony Robbins a particular statement caught his eye, “find something you are passionate about and do it”. That struck a chord in Waterhouse. “What am I passionate about?” The answer was simple, “I have a passion for helping people reach their potential and seeing them succeed in life.” What better way to serve God and people today than to assist the jobless, underemployed and those transitioning to new careers.
Waterhouse has chosen to dedicate his life to serving people as a Life Coach. He is opening his new business, Waterhouse Coaching Services (WCS), which will coach clients in areas such as; life, personal and business leadership, and spiritual development. Robbins says, "The bottom line is that people have within them a force that is so powerful, there is nothing that can keep them from doing, being, sharing, creating and giving whatever they envision in life.” Scott will offer life coaching in the areas of; identify strengths and weakness, setting goals, overcoming obstacles, empowerment, transforming dreams into reality and finding work that inspires them. Plus, workshops and seminars will be offered. Waterhouse is available to speak at civic groups, churches, businesses and other organizations on “Empowering the Spirit Within”.
As part of his new career choice and his compassion for those in crisis, he is spearheading a new JobHunters Network as a mission project of the men’s ministry at Triangle Baptist Church located at 9713 Old Stage Road near Highway Ten-Ten. Waterhouse says, “I am very excited about this new ministry for our church and community” and has targeted February 12, 2009 at 6:00 pm for the first meeting.
The purpose for this network is to provide spiritual and emotional support, to inspire people to empower the spirit within them, encourage and provide job seeking skills; such as resume writing, job search skills and interviewing skills. Please register for the network by contacting Scott at 919-621-9179 or send inquiries to wsw@waterhousecoaching.com. Everyone is welcome.
